Why use a Unifiber winch
- The winch can be used with all europin compatible mast extensions (for US pin system an adapter is available).
- for normal extensions you use the hole which is perpendicular to axle
- for example a Streamlined extension you will use the whole which is angular related to the axle.

- Little physical strenghth is required, even for sails which require a tremendous amount of downhaul. There are a lot of winches available on the market which use 12-15mm or larger diameters. Because the diameter of the Unifiber winch is only 10mm it is lighter to use. It is also possible for woman to trim a racesail on their own.
- The possibility to adjust downhaul tension per mm!
- The axle has sufficient length in order to downhaul the sail in one effort.
- When it is very windy it is easy to give an additional cm of downhaul with little effort.
- Very IMPORTANT, the Unifiber winch is very compact which means that leverage forces on the mast extension are reduced to a minimum. A lot of downhaul devices are causing damge to the mast extension.
